Biotechnology BSc
Description of the programme
The Biotechnology BSc programme aims to educate students to become immediately employable after graduation. The program will offer both theoretical and practical skills needed to start working as skilled biotechnologist in many industrial fields and offers several months of industrial placements for sufficient work experience. Using state of the art laboratory techniques students can also experience laboratory research and have a great variety of further education possibilities to choose from in medical, pharmaceutical, environmental and food biotechnology.
At the oral admission interview 45 points van be awarded which will be assessed as follows:
1. Introduction: The applicant describes the main characteristics of his/her BSc education (major, experiences), the content, methodological components and results of his/her diploma thesis. In this regard, we will assess your interests in the form of a free conversation, as well as the connections between your previous knowledge, studies and Biotechnology MSc training.
2. Assessment of the applicant's general, biotechnology-related knowledge: interpretation of the concept of biotechnology, its importance in medical and health sciences, most important achievements so far, the applicant's own ideas about possible personal and general disciplinary perspectives.
3. Broader social effects of biotechnology - shaping lifestyle, health, arts, public knowledge, and his/her opinion on its possible limitations.
4. The training is in English, therefore the procedure is conducted in English, in which understanding of the live spoken English text and the appropriate communication skills are very important.
After the hearing, the admissions committee evaluates the applicant's performance in a closed session and determines the score achieved. The outcome of the exam will be recorded on the felvi.hu website within 5 working days.
