The General Medicine program at the University of Pécs
Medical School is a six-year (12-semester) one-tier master's degree program.
It is divided into four main modules:
- Basic Module (1st–2nd year): Students acquire knowledge about the structure and function of the human body, as well as fundamental subjects like biophysics, chemistry, biochemistry, and informatics.
- Preclinical Module (3rd year): The focus shifts to pathological changes, diseases, microbiology, and pharmacology, preparing students for clinical practice.
- Clinical Module (4th–5th year): Students gain hands-on experience with patients in various medical fields, working closely with practicing doctors.
- Rotational year (6th year): The last year consists of 4- to 12-week clinical rotations in different departments, providing in-depth practical training.
