1. Requirements
Grades or language proficiency certificates are not considered for admission; however, applicants must possess a valid high school diploma. Our institution administers a comprehensive online entrance exam, comprising both written and oral components. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong foundation in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
2. Recognition of the diploma
Hungarian medical university degrees are recognized in all EU Member States, Norway, and Switzerland.
Graduates are eligible to take the United States and Canadian Medical Licensing Examinations. We help you sit the examination by providing free access to AMBOSS – our online medical encyclopedia.

The University of Pécs Medical School has been accredited according to the criteria of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) until 2030.

5. Cost of living in the heart of Europe
Hungary offers an affordable living environment, with monthly expenses averaging approximately 600 EUR.
Dormitory accommodations are available at around 170 EUR per month; however, the majority of students opt to rent and share apartments. Rental prices vary, fully furnished rented flat from EUR 450 (including utilities).

The English-taught General Medicine program commenced in 1986, followed by the establishment of the English Dentistry program in 2005. As a result, our institution boasts over four decades of expertise in delivering international medical education.
8. Application
You can apply through our simple application website called „Dreamapply” which opens on 01 Nov and runs until 30 June every year.
Just get your documents ready. All you need is your passport, CV, transcript of the high school diploma, medical certs and vaccination card. Fill out the form and wait for the colleagues of the English Admissions Offices to get back to you with further instructions.
9. Innovations
The new, state-of-the-art theoretical wing is 129,167 square feet, this cutting-edge facility is equipped with advanced technological innovations, modern laboratories, and 21st-century teaching tools, including four large lecture halls and 34 seminar rooms.
The new theoretical and clinical dentistry building, located directly across from the main campus, was handed over in 2022. This five-story structure encompasses 29,600 square feet, housing 61 new dental units designed to serve both patients and students.
Additionally, the Mediskills Lab has been expanded by a factor of six, and a newly developed educational lab utilizing virtual and augmented reality (AR/VR) technologies has been introduced. The lab features high-fidelity simulators, 3D-equipped devices, and innovative demonstration tools, creating a premier environment to enhance the practical skills of medical professionals, both graduates and postgraduates.
