The entrance exam is designed to assess both your academic knowledge and your motivation to study in the medical field. Depending on the program you apply for, the structure of the exam may differ.

For applicants to the General Medicine and Dentistry program, the entrance exam consists of two parts: a written exam and an oral interview.

Written exam

The written exam can be completed either online or in person (in Pécs, Budapest, or at authorized international locations).

If you choose the online option, you will receive a personal access link via email—be sure to check your spam folder if it doesn’t arrive. The test is taken on the university’s exam platform and lasts 1 hour and 40 minutes.

It includes multiple-choice questions in four areas:

  • Biology (20 questions),
  • Chemistry (20),
  • General English (40),
  • and Medical English (20).

No camera or microphone is required during this part.

Oral Exam

The oral interview is a 20–30 minute session conducted with a university professor, either online via Zoom or MS Teams, or in person. During the interview, you will discuss medicine-related topics and your personal motivation for pursuing a medical career. A working camera and microphone are required, and you must be alone in the room and maintain eye contact throughout the interview.

For applicants to the Pharmacy (PharmD) and Biotechnology (BSc and MSc) programs, the entrance process includes only the oral interview. The interview lasts 20–30 minutes and focuses on science-related questions as well as your motivation.

Please note that you may attempt the entrance exam a maximum of three times (only once for Stipendium Hungaricum applicants). However, you only need to submit your application once, even if you retake the exam.

Preparation is key. The university recommends using the following textbooks :
