The Medical Skills Education and Innovation Centre at the
University of Pécs Medical School has become the first institution in Hungary
to receive Provisional Accreditation from the Society for Simulation in
Healthcare (SSH), the world’s leading organisation for healthcare simulation
accreditation.
Awarded on 21 July 2026, the accreditation is valid until the end of 2028 and recognises the Centre’s high standards in simulation-based medical education, quality assurance, research and innovation.
The accreditation follows several years of development and preparation. As part of the rigorous evaluation process, SSH experts reviewed the Centre’s educational activities, organisational structure and quality management, confirming that it met 59 accreditation criteria across seven areas of simulation-based education.
For students, this achievement highlights the University of Pécs Medical School’s commitment to modern, evidence-based medical education. Through advanced simulation, students can develop and practise clinical skills in a safe and controlled environment before applying them in real-life patient care.
The SSH evaluators particularly recognised the Centre’s dedicated leadership, use of data-driven best practices and strong focus on educational research.
The accreditation also connects the Centre to an international community of healthcare simulation professionals, creating new opportunities for international collaboration, knowledge exchange and further innovation in medical education.
