Dreaming of a career in healthcare? The University of Pécs
Medical School (UPMS) offers two English-taught programs for aspiring
healthcare professionals: a six-year General Medicine program, and a
five-year Dentistry program.
What are the entry requirements?
To apply for either program, you must:
- Have a secondary school leaving certificate or be completing your secondary education during the application period. If admitted, you must submit your final certificate by enrolment.
- Have a strong foundation in Biology and Chemistry, which are essential for the entrance examination. Click here for the topics.
- Have at least B2-level (upper-intermediate) English proficiency. A separate language certificate is not required.
- Be eligible for higher education studies in your home country.
What does the entrance examination involve?
Admission to both programs is based on a written entrance test and an oral interview.
- Written test: Multiple-choice questions in Biology, Chemistry, General English and Medical English.
- Oral interview: A 20–30-minute interview with a university professor, focusing on science-related topics, medicine and your motivation to study.
The written test takes 1 hour and 40 minutes. For the 2027 admission period, entrance examinations are planned to be conducted mostly online.
Please note that high school grades are not included in the admission assessment. Your admission decision is based solely on your performance in the entrance examination.
When can you apply?
Applications for the 2027/2028 academic year open on 1 November 2026, with a deadline of 30 June 2027. Entrance examinations are planned between 3 March and 14 July 2027. As admission is conducted on a continuous basis, applying early is recommended.
