The Campus Advisor - 46th place
The Campus Advisor published their latest ranking on September 19 2024, in which they ranked the most liveable university cities based on feedback and opinions from university students. Pécs was 46th last year, and this year it is 14th, ahead of cities like London, Krakow, Barcelona or Paris. The Hungarian capital is also on the list, barely missing the imaginary podium.

It is interesting that Pécs won the category of cost of living, making it the most liveable university city in Europe.
“Every Pécs resident and even every Hungarian can be proud of this achievement, since both our capital city and the Baranya county capital got excellent ranking. It is telling that Pécs has skipped ahead 30 places compared to last year’s rankings. The tendency showing at our university is not a coincidence; the number of international students has doubled over a few years. it is a fact that our university is becoming more popular for students from abroad, and it is good feedback for us; it proves that our international strategy is resting on good foundations, the direction we are headed is good. The newly published ranking also confirms this” – said dr. István Tarrósy, director of the International Centre of the University of Pécs.
